According to Rescue 1122, emergency teams responded to incidents at different locations throughout the day, carrying out rescue operations, shifting the injured to hospitals and bringing several fires under control.
The most serious incident occurred in Affandi Colony within the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad police station, where a suspected gas accumulation triggered a powerful explosion inside a house, followed by a fire.
Five Rescue 1122 vehicles were dispatched to the scene. Rescue workers provided first aid to the injured before shifting them to Holy Family Hospital. Firefighters later extinguished the blaze.
Rescue officials said seven people were injured in the explosion, while the house sustained extensive damage.
In a separate incident near Zia Mosque Stop on the Islamabad Expressway service road, a speeding vehicle struck two women who were attempting to cross the road.
One woman died at the scene before rescue teams arrived, while the second victim, identified as 40-year-old Nazma Bibi, suffered multiple fractures and serious head injuries. She was shifted to hospital for treatment.
Rescue 1122 officials said the deceased woman's body was also transported to hospital.
Authorities said other emergencies reported during the day included an LPG cylinder explosion and fires in residential and commercial properties. Rescue teams managed to control the blazes and prevent further damage.
