Earthquake tremors felt in Lahore, adjoining areas

LAHORE: Earthquake tremors were felt in Lahore and several adjoining areas on Tuesday, prompting residents to leave homes, offices and commercial buildings as a precaution.

The tremors were reported from different parts of Lahore and nearby districts, with many residents saying the shaking lasted for a few seconds.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property following the earthquake.

Authorities said relevant departments were monitoring the situation, while details regarding the earthquake's magnitude, depth and epicentre were being awaited from seismic monitoring centres.

Pakistan frequently experiences earthquakes due to its location at the junction of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, making parts of the country vulnerable to seismic activity.

Officials urged citizens to remain calm and follow safety guidelines in the event of aftershocks.
