CAPITALS: Bosnia and Herzegovina has already found an early World Cup talking point before the tournament begins, with a football-themed song by local band Dubioza Kolektiv drawing millions of views online ahead of the country’s second appearance at the finals.
The track is a reworked version of the band’s 2011 song U.S.A. and carries the chorus I am from Bosnia, Take me to America. According to AFP, the clip had attracted several million views across multiple platforms by Tuesday, emerging as one of the standout songs linked to the competition, which starts on June 11.
The video, released in late May, shows the musicians in yellow shirts dribbling footballs, playing instruments and singing while cevapi, a traditional Balkan grilled meat dish, cooks on a barbecue.
Brano Jakubovic, the band’s keyboardist and lyricist, said the low-budget style helped the video connect with viewers.
