Pakistan beat Bangladesh to reach U18 Asia Cup semi-finals
Pakistan advanced to the U18 Asia Cup semi-finals after a 5-2 win over Bangladesh in Kakamigahara, Japan. They will now face India in the last-four clash on June 5.

KAKAMIGAHARA, Japan: Pakistan booked a place in the semi-finals of the Under-18 Asia Cup 2026 after defeating Bangladesh 5-2 in Kakamigahara on Tuesday, according to details shared in the tournament report.
The competition, organised by the Asian Hockey Federation, is being held in Japan from May 29 to June 6. Pakistan will now take on India in the semi-final on June 5.
Pakistan made an early breakthrough and went on to control much of the contest. Abdullah scored twice, including Pakistan’s opening goal in the third minute, while Adeel, Asam and Yahya added one goal each. Bangladesh’s goals came through Tarikul Islam and Manna Islam.
Pakistan’s Muhammad Yahya was named Player of the Match. Pakistan’s attacking line made good use of its scoring chances, while the midfield and defence kept a firm grip on the game for most of the match.
Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani congratulated the players and team management on reaching the last four. He praised the side’s discipline, determination and overall display, and said the result reflected the hard work of the players, coaches and support staff as they seek to revive Pakistan hockey’s standing at the international level.
Wani also described the junior team’s progress to the semi-finals as an important development for the growth of junior hockey in the country. Pakistan will now prepare for the last-four meeting with India as they look to carry their winning form into the next stage and move closer to the title.
