ISLAMABAD: Express Entertainment is set to air its new drama Bhanwar on June 3, with the story focusing on cyber blackmail, online harassment and digital exploitation in an increasingly connected world.
According to promotional material cited in a report by Express Tribune, the drama follows women from different backgrounds whose lives become linked by a shared experience of abuse. The characters include a widow trying to support herself, a college student living in fear, and a young woman attempting to start over in a new city.
The narrative centres on how videos, voice recordings and stolen identities are used for blackmail, showing how technology can be turned into a tool for exploitation. A journalist investigating the apparent links between the cases is also central to the plot, but his effort to expose those behind the crimes draws him into a dangerous confrontation.
Bhanwar stars Asad Siddiqui, Mansha Pasha, Areeka Haq and Ali Safina. The upcoming serial appears to combine a suspense-based storyline with themes tied to digital abuse affecting people across society.
