Court ruling reunites woman with second husband amid family drama
The Lahore High Court allowed a woman to leave with her second husband after she told the court she had married him and wanted to live with him. Her daughters from an earlier marriage cried outside the court after the order.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday allowed a woman to leave with her second husband after she told the court that she had married him and wanted to live with him.
The matter came up in a habeas corpus petition filed by Ghulam Hussain, who sought the recovery of his wife, Shabnam Bibi, from what he alleged was unlawful confinement by her former husband. He told the court that Shabnam was legally married to him and asked that she be recovered and permitted to go with him.
During the hearing, Shabnam stated before the court that she had married Hussain and wished to live with him. Following her statement, the court allowed her to go with her husband.
After the order, Shabnam’s daughters from her earlier marriage broke down outside the court. One of the daughters said their mother had refused to recognise them during the proceedings and had instead testified in support of her new husband. Shabnam then left with Hussain in line with the court’s decision.
