Veteran actress Fazila Qazi opens fire on Iqrar Ul Hassan for 'obsession' with Imran Khan
Veteran actress Fazila Qazi sparked online debate with a strongly worded Instagram video targeting Iqrar Ul Hassan, accusing him of being “obsessed” with Imran Khan and urging self-reflection.

Veteran Pakistani actress Fazila Qazi has triggered a wave of online debate after posting a strongly worded video message targeting former television host and journalist Iqrar Ul Hassan, accusing him of being “obsessed” with former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The video, shared on her Instagram account, quickly spread across social media, with users reacting strongly to her remarks and the unusually direct tone of her criticism.
In her message, Fazila did not hold back as she expressed regret over her earlier impression of Iqrar Ul Hassan.
“I made a huge mistake in recognizing Iqrar. I have become tired of listening to that person’s words. You are so obsessed with one individual. You are incredibly obsessed with Imran Khan,” she said.
She clarified that she holds no political affiliation, but said she felt compelled to respond due to the nature of public discourse.
“Look, even if someone supports a political party, that’s fine, but I am not affiliated with any political party. I am simply disturbed by the way people speak. I may disagree with many of Imran Khan’s political decisions, but regardless of that, he is an asset to our country. He brought us the World Cup. He established Shaukat Khanum, where countless people receive treatment. At least acknowledge someone’s good deeds as well,” she said.
Fazila went on to describe Imran Khan as a strong leader but a weak politician.
“I admit that Imran Khan is a great leader, but I think he is a very poor politician. He doesn’t understand politics, and that is why he is suffering through all of this. Many times we fail to recognize people’s true nature. I would probably be a terrible politician too, God forbid if I ever became one, because I also struggle to judge and understand people correctly,” she added.
Her sharpest remarks, however, were directed at Iqrar Ul Hassan himself.
“Who are you to assassinate someone else’s character? Take a look at yourself first. We are all sinners. None of us is completely pure or flawless. When you point one finger at someone else, three or four fingers are pointing back at you. At least look at yourself and reflect on what you have done,” she said.
She also referred to a separate incident involving him at an airport, adding further weight to her criticism.
“After that, you were even seen behaving rudely with people at the airport. Believe me, I stayed quiet even after watching that because I thought, maybe the poor guy is under some kind of pressure. But honestly, it seems to me that you need treatment. You should seek help and get your mind treated,” she added.
The video immediately went viral, drawing mixed reactions online. Many social media users supported the actress, praising her for speaking openly, while others debated the political undertones of her comments.
Iqrar Ul Hassan, one of Pakistan’s most recognisable media figures, parted ways with ARY News on April 15, 2026 after a 21-year association. He later launched his political party, Pakistan Awaam Raj Tehreek, in January 2026, stepping away from journalism to fully focus on politics.
