Water supply disrupted in Karachi again
Water supply in Karachi was disrupted again after K-Electric carried out an emergency shutdown at the Dhabeji Grid Station. KWSC said 10 of 21 pumping units went offline, affecting transmission and supply in several areas.

KARACHI: Water supply to Karachi was disrupted again after a forced power shutdown at the Dhabeji Pumping Station, according to a spokesperson for the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC).
The spokesperson said K-Electric announced an emergency shutdown at 6:30pm on Saturday to carry out urgent repair work on a critical fault in Power Transformer No. 1 at the Dhabeji Grid Station.
According to KWSC, the outage caused 10 of the 21 pumping units at the Dhabeji Pumping Station to go offline, badly affecting the city’s water transmission system and interrupting supply to several parts of Karachi.
The KWSC spokesperson said K-Electric had initially told the corporation the outage would continue for around one hour, but no confirmed timeline had yet been given for full restoration of electricity. KWSC management was closely monitoring the situation and remained in contact with K-Electric for the earliest restoration of power and normalisation of water supply.
