US and Mexico conclude first round of trade talks
The United States and Mexico have completed their first bilateral round of talks on revising the USMCA trade pact. Further meetings are planned in Washington in June and in Mexico City in July.

WASHINGTON: Trade negotiators from the United States and Mexico on Friday wrapped up their first bilateral round of talks aimed at revising the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, according to the US Trade Representative's office.
The office said the discussions covered automotive rules of origin, trade in steel and aluminum, and economic security.
It said the two sides will continue their negotiations on June 16-17 in Washington, DC. Those talks are set to cover agriculture and what the agency described as a level playing field.
A third round has been scheduled for the week of July 20 in Mexico City. The current talks so far do not include Canada, the other partner in the USMCA trade pact.
