'Trump survives again': Viral Trump buffalo rescued from Eid sacrifice at last moment
A rare albino buffalo nicknamed “Donald Trump buffalo” was set for Eid al-Adha sacrifice in Bangladesh, but viral fame drew crowds. Home Affairs ordered a refund and relocation to the national zoo.

A rare albino buffalo in Bangladesh, nicknamed Donald Trump buffalo, has been spared from Eid al-Adha sacrifice after an extraordinary wave of public attention turned it into an unexpected national sensation.
The 700-kg animal, known for its unusual blond tuft of hair resembling the hairstyle of former US President Donald Trump, went viral after videos from a farm in Narayanganj began circulating widely on social media.
What was originally a routine livestock purchase for Eid quickly escalated into a crowd-drawing spectacle, with visitors travelling from different regions just to see the animal’s distinctive appearance.
According to local reports, the buffalo had already been purchased for ritual sacrifice. However, the sudden surge in public interest led to growing crowds at the farm, raising concerns about safety and crowd control.
Bangladesh’s Home Affairs Minister Salahuddin Ahmed eventually intervened, ordering that the buffalo be spared from sacrifice, the buyer refunded, and the animal relocated to the Bangladesh National Zoo in Dhaka.
“At the last moment, the decision was taken to spare the buffalo from sacrifice due to security concerns and the unusual level of public interest,” a ministry official said.
The animal’s owner said the nickname was given by a family member who noticed its resemblance to the former US president’s distinctive hairstyle. He also described the buffalo as unusually calm and easy to handle, despite its size.
Albino buffaloes are already rare in Bangladesh, making the animal stand out even further during the peak Eid livestock season. But it was its viral fame — and its unexpected nickname — that ultimately saved it from being sacrificed.
Online reactions have been predictably chaotic, with users turning the story into memes and political jokes, including comments referencing “survival,” “white privilege,” and even parody Trump-style quotes about “grains.”
