Punjab government schools await official notification for summer camps

Government schools across Punjab are still waiting for an official notification regarding summer camps despite growing expectations ahead of the vacation period.

According to reports, school administrations have not yet received formal instructions from the School Education Department Punjab about the schedule, operational timings or approval process for the camps.

The delay has created uncertainty among teachers, students and school administrations preparing academic activities for the summer break.

Authorities had earlier discussed allowing limited summer camps in schools during morning hours because of academic disruptions caused by unscheduled closures and weather-related interruptions during the academic year.

Officials are reportedly considering conducting camps between 7am and 10am to minimise exposure to extreme heat while allowing students to continue educational activities.

The issue comes as Punjab has already announced early summer vacations due to rising temperatures and heatwave concerns across the province.

Private schools have also sought permission to organise similar academic camps during the vacation period.
