Sarah Ahmad says Pakistan-China ties reflect regional stability and prosperity

ISLAMABAD: Punjab Child Protection Bureau Chairperson and MPA Sarah Ahmad has said the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and China represents regional stability, development and prosperity, as she addressed a youth exchange panel during a visit to China.

Ahmad made the remarks at Capital Normal University while visiting China as part of a delegation of Pakistani parliamentarians and political representatives participating in events marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

During her address, she underscored the need to deepen people-to-people links, expand educational cooperation and increase youth engagement between the two countries. She said the next phase of Pakistan-China cooperation could be reinforced through universities, research, innovation and collaboration among young people.

Ahmad said that under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan-China friendship had reached new levels, adding that bilateral ties had become stronger, deeper and more effective.

She reiterated that the enduring friendship between the two countries remained a sign of regional stability, progress and prosperity. The lawmaker also highlighted the importance of joint research projects and technological cooperation involving Pakistani and Chinese youth.

Ahmad said Pakistani students enrolled at Chinese universities were serving as ambassadors of goodwill between the two countries. She also stressed the role of the younger generation in countering extremism, promoting peace and helping build a better future.

Delegation visit and anniversary events

The visit took place as Pakistan and China mark 75 years of diplomatic relations. Ahmad was part of a Pakistani delegation hosted in China for anniversary-related engagements.

She also thanked the International Department of the Communist Party of China for inviting and hosting the Pakistani delegation.

Her speech focused on the role of youth and academic institutions in carrying forward bilateral cooperation. Her remarks placed particular emphasis on educational exchange, research partnerships and technology-based collaboration as areas that could further strengthen ties between the two countries.

Ahmad’s comments came during a panel centred on youth exchange, where she linked stronger engagement among younger people to broader goals of peace and regional progress. She said young people could make an important contribution to reducing extremism and fostering a more peaceful future.

The report presented her address as part of wider commemorative activities tied to the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, with Pakistani political representatives taking part in engagements in China during the milestone year.
