'Say yes to India or lose work at home': Shaan Shahid drops bombshell
Veteran actor Shaan Shahid sparked fresh debate by suggesting his decision not to work in India may have limited his Pakistan offers. He spoke during Psycho’s Karachi promotion ahead of its Eid ul Adha release.

Veteran actor Shaan Shahid has stirred a fresh debate in the entertainment industry after suggesting that his work opportunities in Pakistan may have been affected due to his decision not to work in India.
Speaking during the promotion of his upcoming film Psycho in Karachi, Shaan indicated that some artists who cross over into Indian projects are treated differently within the local industry, while those who don’t may face a quieter, more limited stream of offers at home.
Without directly naming individuals, he implied that industry dynamics often reward cross-border visibility, while others who remain focused solely on Pakistan may not receive the same level of attention or opportunities.
His remarks added a sharper edge to an already ongoing conversation about borders in entertainment, where he earlier pointed out that artists often appear more flexible internationally than within their own domestic circuits.
Shaan also reflected on his long career and extended break from films, saying he stepped back after an extensive body of work before eventually returning to the screen when he felt creatively re-energised.
The comments have reignited discussion within industry circles about casting practices, visibility, and whether political and cross-border associations influence professional opportunities in Pakistan’s entertainment landscape.
His upcoming film Psycho, a psychological thriller exploring perception and reality, is set for release on Eid ul Adha and features a cast including Sonya Hussyn, Meera, and Jawed Sheikh.
