SAMUNDRI: An eight-year-old boy who went missing in Samundri was found dead on Monday in circumstances police described as mysterious, with injury marks visible on his body.
Police identified the child as Ali Ahmed, a resident of Chak 447-GB. According to police, he had gone with his friends on Sunday to bathe at a bridge but did not return home afterward.
After the boy failed to come back, his family began searching for him on their own, police said. The search continued until Monday morning, when villagers spotted the child’s body near a watercourse outside the village and alerted the authorities.
Police said the body was found naked. Samundri Saddar police reached the scene after receiving information and shifted the body to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.
