PM Shehbaz, KP CM Afridi discuss Bannu attack in telephonic contact
PM Shehbaz Sharif spoke by phone with KP CM Muhammad Sohail Afridi to condemn the Bannu police checkpoint attack, mourn victims, pray for the injured, and pledge federal support to eradicate terrorism.

ISLAMABAD / PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday held a telephonic conversation with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, during which he strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a police checkpoint in Bannu.
The prime minister expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the incident and prayed for the elevation of ranks of the martyred police personnel. He also extended condolences to the bereaved families.
He prayed for the swift recovery of those injured and reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to working closely with provincial governments for the complete eradication of terrorism from the country.
The prime minister assured that the federal government would extend all possible assistance to the provincial government in counterterrorism efforts.
Both leaders paid rich tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces, security agencies, and police personnel for their continued sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Reiterating a firm national stance, the prime minister said that Pakistan remains determined to eliminate all forms of terrorism from its soil.
