Notorious ‘Tees Mar Khan’, ‘Commando Group’ gangsters apprehended

Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) said five suspected members of the Tees Mar Khan and Commando Group were arrested in an intelligence-based operation in North Nazimabad. Weapons, mobile phones and cash were recovered, while further raids are under way.

Notorious ‘Tees Mar Khan’, ‘Commando Group’ gangsters apprehended

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) said they arrested five suspected members of a criminal gang during an intelligence-based operation in the Niaaz Manzil area of North Nazimabad.

According to a press release issued by the paramilitary force, the detained suspects were identified as Gulfam alias Sunny, Muhammad Shan, Dawood, Ashraf alias Pannu and Ismail. Rangers said the men were linked to a group known as the Tees Mar Khan and Commando Group.

The statement said the gang had allegedly been involved in a series of street crimes and robberies in several parts of Karachi. These included incidents in Hyderi Market, Godhra Chowk, Gulberg Town, Serena Mobile Market and nearby areas.

Rangers said the suspects were allegedly involved in mobile phone snatching, motorcycle theft and armed robbery. The press release added that the group had been linked to around 450 to 500 robbery cases.

According to the statement, the gang stole motorcycles, mobile phones and cash estimated at Rs3.5 million to Rs4 million. Rangers also said several citizens were injured during the course of these robberies.

Weapons and stolen items recovered

The press release said weapons and suspected stolen property were recovered from the arrested men. The items listed by Rangers included one .30 bore pistol, two 9mm pistols, magazines, bullets, mobile phones and cash.

Rangers further said that one of the arrested suspects, Muhammad Shan, was also allegedly involved in supplying illegal weapons to criminals and buying stolen motorcycles.

According to the statement, the five men are repeat offenders and multiple first information reports have already been registered against them at different police stations across Karachi.

Rangers said further raids were under way to apprehend other alleged accomplices of the group.

The operation was described by Rangers as intelligence-based, and the force said the arrests were part of efforts against robbery and street crime in the city.
