 ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong on Tuesday called on Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and reaffirmed the enduring strength of the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China, according to the Foreign Office.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), it said, “The Chinese envoy called on FM Dar and congratulated him on Pakistan’s decisive success on the anniversary of Marka-e-Haq.”

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong reaffirmed the “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” as a cornerstone of the Pakistan–China relationship, underscoring its long-term strength and resilience.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, in his remarks, reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening the iron-clad All-Weather Strategic Partnership with China across all sectors, including economic, strategic and development cooperation.

In March, the Chinese envoy had also met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where discussions focused on Pakistan’s economic engagement with China and ongoing bilateral projects.

During that meeting, the prime minister extended congratulations to the Chinese leadership on the successful conclusion of the “Two Sessions,” and thanked President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang and Foreign Minister Wang Yi for their warm messages on Pakistan Day.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had emphasised Pakistan’s continued commitment to advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0, with a special focus on agriculture, industrial cooperation and key infrastructure projects.

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, in response, appreciated Pakistan’s resilience and reform efforts and reiterated China’s continued support in trade, investment and development cooperation.

Both sides acknowledged steady progress in bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction over ongoing high-level exchanges. They also looked forward to commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations through enhanced engagements.

In a related development, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review key consular matters and service delivery for Pakistani nationals.

He appreciated the coordination between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Interior, stressing the importance of further enhancing facilitation in consular services, including the efficient issuance of passports and timely support for citizens at home and abroad.

He directed the development of streamlined, citizen-centric mechanisms to better serve the public, particularly the overseas Pakistani diaspora.

The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, Secretary Interior and other senior officials from both ministries.
