Dont buy these medicines! Punjab issues alert on substandard medicines, orders immediate recall
Punjab’s Drugs Control Directorate warns that lab tests found three medicines substandard or adulterated. Authorities order an immediate recall, enhanced monitoring, and urge the public to stop using affected batches.

LAHORE: The Directorate of Drugs Control Punjab has issued an alert after multiple batches of medicines were declared substandard and adulterated following laboratory testing.
According to officials, Drug Testing Laboratories Punjab identified three medicines currently in circulation that failed quality checks. These include Infusion GEE-Sol (NS) 1000 mL (Sodium Chloride 0.9% w/v), batch 26A025, and Infusion GEE-Sol RL 500 mL (Compound Sodium Lactate), batch 25MM264, both declared substandard, along with Injection Neudex 1 mL (Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate 4 mg/mL), batch DX062, declared adulterated.
Authorities have directed manufacturers, market authorisation holders and distributors to immediately recall the affected batches, submit complete distribution records and upload recall documentation on the DRAP website.
Drug inspectors across Punjab have been instructed to increase monitoring of supply chains and take action under the Drugs Act 1976 and DRAP Act 2012.
The public has been advised to stop using the identified batches immediately due to potential health risks.
