Witkoff, Kushner to visit Pakistan for Iran talks, White House says

WASHINGTON/ISLAMABAD: US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and senior adviser Jared Kushner are set to travel to Pakistan for talks related to Iran, the White House said.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in an interview with Fox News that the two officials would arrive in Islamabad on Saturday morning to take part in discussions mediated by Pakistan. She said the broader US team would remain on standby to travel if required.

Leavitt said Witkoff and Kushner would report back to the president, the vice president and other officials following their meetings.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi was also expected in Islamabad to discuss proposals aimed at restarting negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
