ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Thursday directed key ministries to submit detailed plans and data to address challenges in agriculture, commodity supply and logistics.

The Ministry of Food was asked to coordinate with provincial governments and present, within one month, a comprehensive plan aimed at enhancing crop yields across the country.

The Ministry of Commerce Pakistan was tasked with providing updated import and export statistics of essential commodities, along with identifying key issues affecting trade flows.

Similarly, the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination was instructed to brief authorities on the import status and availability of medicines.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Railways Pakistan, in collaboration with the National Logistics Cell (NLC), was directed to present a briefing on logistics and transportation arrangements for commodities, including any operational challenges.

Officials said the directives are part of broader efforts to improve coordination across sectors and ensure the timely availability and movement of essential goods.
