Sindh Police signs deal with OMI Hospital for subsidised treatment

KARACHI: The Sindh Police has signed an agreement with OMI Hospital under which police personnel and their families will be able to access medical treatment at reduced rates.

The agreement was formalised at a ceremony held at the Central Police Office. The event was attended by the Inspector General of Sindh and the DIG Headquarters.

On behalf of the police department, the agreement was signed by the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Welfare. OMI Hospital was represented by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kashif Mustafa.

Under the arrangement, police employees and their family members will receive a 50 per cent discount on outpatient department services and emergency treatment. They will also be entitled to a 20 per cent discount on laboratory tests and a 10 per cent discount on medicines.

Officials said the initiative has been introduced to reduce the financial pressure on police employees and their households by making healthcare more affordable.

According to officials, the measure is also intended to help personnel concentrate better on their professional responsibilities by easing concerns related to medical expenses.

The officials added that the agreement is expected to contribute to improved morale within the force and support better overall performance.

Discount structure under the agreement

The concessions announced under the agreement cover several areas of treatment and care. The largest reduction applies to outpatient and emergency services, where eligible beneficiaries will receive treatment at half the usual cost.

Laboratory services have also been included in the package, with a 20 per cent reduction in charges. In addition, medicines will be available at a 10 per cent discount under the terms agreed between the police department and the hospital.

The agreement extends these benefits not only to serving police personnel but also to their families, broadening the scope of the relief being offered through the arrangement.

Officials outline purpose of initiative

Officials said the purpose of the agreement is to provide practical support to members of the police force by lowering the cost of treatment. They said this would help lessen the economic burden faced by employees.

They further stated that by addressing healthcare-related expenses, the initiative could help improve the working environment for police personnel and strengthen morale and efficiency across the department.
