Girl alleges rape after being lured with job offer in Chiniot

CHINIOT: A young girl was allegedly raped in Chiniot after a man reportedly contacted her on social media and persuaded her to meet him by offering employment, according to police.

According to the details given in the case, the girl, identified as Z and described as a resident of the Tahirabad area in Chenab Nagar, was approached online by a man identified as U, who also belonged to the same town.

The suspect allegedly told her that he was an expatriate and said he was looking for a maid to care for his mother, who was living in Chenab Nagar. He also allegedly offered her a handsome salary, after which the girl agreed to meet him.

Police said the suspect allegedly picked up the girl in a car and took her to a house near Sharif Manzil on Sahiwal Road. During the journey, three other men said to be his accomplices also got into the vehicle.

According to the complaint, the girl was then taken inside the house, where U allegedly raped her at gunpoint. The other accused allegedly locked the room from the outside and remained on guard during the incident.

After the alleged assault, the accused released the girl.

Case registered on aunt’s complaint

The case was registered by Chenab Nagar police on the complaint of the victim’s aunt. Police have begun an investigation into the incident.

However, none of the accused had been arrested so far.

The incident was reported as police continued to investigate the allegations and pursue the suspects named in the case.

No further official details were provided in the report regarding the progress of the investigation beyond the registration of the case and the fact that arrests had not yet been made.

The allegations in the case centre on the claim that the victim was deceived into meeting the suspect through a false promise of employment made on social media, before being taken to another location where the alleged assault took place.

Police have registered the matter and initiated legal proceedings on the basis of the complaint.
