ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to expanding cooperation with Saudi Arabia in all spheres, particularly in trade, investment, and economic development, during a meeting with Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Jadaan, state media reported.
The Saudi finance minister, who was on a one-day visit to Islamabad, called on PM Shehbaz at the Prime Minister’s House on Friday evening, according to a statement issued by the PM Office (PMO).

Welcoming the Saudi dignitary, the prime minister conveyed his respectful regards to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir also attended the meeting, the PMO said.
The statement said the prime minister fondly recalled his recent warm and cordial telephone conversation with the Saudi crown prince, and expressed appreciation for his affection towards Pakistan as well as the Kingdom’s longstanding economic and financial support, which has played a vital role in Pakistan’s economic stability.

It added that PM Shehbaz reiterated that the people and government of Pakistan have always stood shoulder to shoulder with their Saudi brothers and sisters, describing the bond between the two countries as enduring and strengthened further under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
He emphasised Pakistan’s strong commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation with Saudi Arabia in all spheres, particularly trade, investment, and economic development.
The statement further said the Saudi finance minister thanked the prime minister and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s resolve to further strengthen the longstanding and deep-rooted fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, in line with the vision of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The meeting followed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent telephonic conversation with the Saudi crown prince, during which he reaffirmed Pakistan’s “unwavering and unflinching solidarity” and support for Saudi Arabia.

He also condemned Iran’s missile and drone strikes on Saudi energy facilities, terming them a “serious violation” of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a dangerous escalation, according to the PMO statement.
During the call, the prime minister assured the crown prince that Pakistan would always stand shoulder to shoulder with Saudi Arabia, just as the Kingdom had consistently supported Pakistan through difficult times.
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also held a telephonic conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, discussing the regional situation and evolving developments, the Foreign Office said in a post on X.
The deputy prime minister also shared updates on Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote dialogue and diplomatic engagement aimed at regional peace and stability.
