Multan Sultans beat Rawalpindiz by seven wickets in PSL 2026
Multan Sultans defeated Rawalpindiz by seven wickets at Gaddafi Stadium after chasing 183 in 16.2 overs. The win was powered by Faisal Akram’s four wickets and a 110-run stand between Sahibzada Farhan and Josh Philippe.

LAHORE: Multan Sultans continued their strong run in the Pakistan Super League 2026 with a seven-wicket win over Rawalpindiz at Gaddafi Stadium on Monday night.
Chasing 183, Multan reached 186 for 3 in 16.2 overs, completing the target with 22 balls remaining. The result further strengthened Multan’s position at the top of the points table, while Rawalpindiz remained without a win this season.
The Sultans registered their fourth victory in five matches, with their bowling, top-order batting and finishing all contributing to a comfortable chase. Left-arm wrist-spinner Faisal Akram played a central role with the ball, taking 4 for 31 and disrupting Rawalpindiz’s middle order through the middle overs.
Akram dismissed Kamran Ghulam, who made 35, and Daryl Mitchell, who scored 17, as Rawalpindiz slipped to 94 for 5. Earlier, Mohammad Ismail and Arafat Minhas had also provided breakthroughs that put the batting side under pressure.
Rawalpindiz recovered late in the innings through Sam Billings and Dian Forrester. Billings remained unbeaten on 56 from 34 balls, while Forrester added 24 and struck three sixes. Even so, their total of 182 was not enough against a Multan side that controlled the chase for most of the innings.
Farhan and Philippe set up chase
Multan lost Steven Smith early for 5, but the setback had little impact on the outcome. Sahibzada Farhan and Josh Philippe then added 110 runs for the second wicket to put the match firmly in Multan’s favour.
Farhan made 68 off 38 balls, scoring quickly with regular boundaries and sixes, while Philippe hit 56 from 30 deliveries. Their partnership kept the asking rate in check and left the remaining batters with a straightforward finish.
After Philippe was dismissed by Mohammad Amir in the 11th over, Shan Masood and captain Ashton Turner completed the chase without difficulty. Masood stayed unbeaten on 27 off 15 balls, while Turner finished on 26 not out from 10 deliveries.
Points table impact
The victory left Multan Sultans leading the standings with a strong net run rate and reinforced their status as one of the early front-runners in the tournament. Rawalpindiz, meanwhile, have now played four matches without a win and remain near the bottom of the table.
The match also underlined the advantage enjoyed by chasing teams this season. Rawalpindiz will now need to reassess both their batting and bowling plans as they look to revive their campaign.
Multan’s next fixture is scheduled to be played in Karachi. With Farhan and Philippe in form and Akram continuing to deliver with the ball, the Sultans have made another strong statement in PSL 2026.
