Nine injured in van accident near Matani Bypass in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: At least nine people were injured in a road accident near Matani Bypass in Peshawar on Monday, rescue officials said.

The accident involved a passenger van that was travelling from Shakardara to Peshawar. The vehicle reportedly went out of control because of driver error and crashed near the bypass.

Rescue sources said emergency responders moved quickly after receiving information about the incident. Ambulances and medical personnel were dispatched to the site, where the injured were given first aid before being transported to hospital for further treatment.

All of the injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, where they were taken for medical care, rescue officials said.

The injured were identified as Siddique, Gul Marjan, Sajjad, his wife, Umar Nawaz, his wife, Naveed, his wife and an unidentified man.

Emergency response

Rescue officials said teams reached the scene soon after the alert was received. Medical staff provided initial treatment at the site of the accident before moving the victims to Lady Reading Hospital.

The incident took place near Matani Bypass, a route on the outskirts of Peshawar. The passenger van had been on its way from Shakardara to the provincial capital when the accident occurred.

The accident was reported on Monday, with rescue authorities confirming that nine people had sustained injuries in the crash.
