Humayun Saeed reveals wife tried to control his acting career with strict rules

Actor Humayun Saeed has opened up about the early days of his career and the concerns his wife, Samina Humayun Saeed, had regarding his entry into acting.

In a YouTube podcast, he revealed that Samina was initially quite possessive and hesitant about his career choice. “At first, Samina would often suggest I consider other work or business instead of acting. She even had rules about interacting with women on set, saying things like, ‘Just don’t hold hands,’” he shared.

However, her perspective evolved as she got to know people in the industry. Humayun explained, “We spent a lot of time on sets, and she eventually met actresses like Sania Saeed, Nadia Jamil, and Sonia Rehman, as well as directors such as Marina Khan. She realized that the field wasn’t what she had imagined—there are genuinely good people here.”

Humayun and Samina tied the knot in 1995 and do not have children.

Saeed is among Pakistan’s leading actors, with acclaimed performances in dramas like Dillagi, Mere Paas Tum Ho, and Bin Roye. Beyond acting, he has produced several successful films, cementing his position in the entertainment industry.
