IHC chief justice’s wife appointed member of tax tribunal
The federal government has appointed Ms Zahida Sarfraz, spouse of IHC Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar, as a member of the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue in Islamabad for an initial three-year term.

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has appointed the spouse of Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar as a member of the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue, according to an official notification.
The notification stated that Ms Zahida Sarfraz, an Inland Revenue Service officer in BS-20, has been appointed as Member (BS-21) in the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue, Bench-IV, Islamabad. The appointment has been made under Section 130 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 for three years.
"In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 130 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, the Federal Government is pleased to appoint Ms Zahida Sarfraz (IRS/BS-20) officer of Inland Revenue Service as Member (BS-21) in the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue, Bench-IV, Islamabad initially for a period of three (03) years", read the notification.
The development concerns the spouse of IHC Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar. The notification identifies the appointee as an officer of the Inland Revenue Service before her elevation to the tribunal position.
The Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue is a quasi-judicial body in Pakistan. It deals with matters related to inland revenue and serves as an appellate forum in tax-related cases.
