Four killed, over a dozen injured in road accidents in Kalat and Bela

KHUZDAR: At least four people were killed and more than a dozen others injured in separate road accidents in Kalat and Lasbela districts on Saturday, officials said.

Three passengers lost their lives and over a dozen others were injured when a Karachi-bound coach overturned near the Baincha area in Kalat district.

According to police, the coach, travelling from Quetta to Karachi, overturned due to overspeeding. “Three passengers were killed on the spot, while 11 others sustained injuries,” officials said.

Rescue teams and police reached the site and shifted the bodies and injured to a nearby hospital. The deceased were identified as Samiullah, Muhammad Asim and Wali Dad.

In a separate incident, a motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run at Kathor Mor on the National Highway near Bela in Lasbela district.

The victim, identified as Kareem Bakhsh, died at the scene, while his pillion rider, Elahi Bakhsh, suffered serious injuries.
