Asim Khan qualifies for PSA World Championships 2026
Muhammad Asim Khan has qualified for the PSA World Championships 2026 after winning the World Championship Qualifying Event–Asia. He defeated Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah 3-2 in an 82-minute final.

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Muhammad Asim Khan has booked his place in the PSA World Championships 2026 after winning the World Championship Qualifying Event–Asia, according to information shared by the Pakistan Squash Federation on Saturday.
Asim secured the title after defeating Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah in a closely contested five-game final. The match lasted 82 minutes, with the Pakistani player emerging victorious 3-2.
The game scores were 11-3, 13-11, 9-11, 3-11, 12-10, underlining the intensity of the contest and the fight shown by both players throughout the final.
Asim made a strong start and took control of the opening two games through attacking play and accurate shot placement. Chuah then responded by claiming the next two games to draw level and force the match into a deciding fifth game.
In the final game, Asim managed to stay composed and edged past his opponent in a tight finish to seal the win and confirm qualification for one of squash’s biggest events.
World Championships spot confirmed
With the result, Asim has officially qualified for the PSA World Championships 2026, which are scheduled to take place in Giza, Egypt, from May 8 to 16.
The tournament will bring together leading squash players from around the world and will offer a prize purse of $700,000.
The Pakistan Squash Federation said Asim’s victory at the Asian qualifying event has ensured his participation in the global championship, adding to Pakistan’s representation at the competition.
Other Pakistan players already qualified
Meanwhile, Noor Zaman and Muhammad Ashab Irfan have already secured their places in the PSA World Championships 2026 on the basis of their world rankings.
As a result, Pakistan will have multiple players in the upcoming event in Giza, with Asim joining Noor Zaman and Muhammad Ashab Irfan in the championship lineup.
Asim’s latest success came through the qualifying route, while the other two Pakistani players had already confirmed their berths through their positions in the world rankings.
The development marks another notable step for Pakistan in international squash, with three players now confirmed for the PSA World Championships 2026.
