Islamabad: The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has announced a three-member squad for the Davis Cup Juniors, which is scheduled to take place in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, from May 16 to 24, 2026.
According to the federation, trials to finalise Pakistan’s team were held at the PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad from March 30 to April 2, 2026. The selection process included 12 players who had been invited on the basis of their current rankings and performances.
The final squad consists of Abubakar Talha, Hassan Usmani and Zohaib Afzal Malik. The PTF said Talha was not required to appear in the trials in view of his recent strong showing.
In its announcement, the federation stated that Talha was exempted from the selection process in recognition of his recent outstanding performance, while the remaining places in the team were decided after the trials in Islamabad.
The Davis Cup Juniors event will be hosted in Shymkent over nine days in May, with Pakistan set to be represented by the three selected players.
