PCB serves show-cause notice to Naseem Shah over alleged contract, media policy breach
The PCB has issued a show-cause notice to Naseem Shah for allegedly breaching his central contract and media policy. The player must respond promptly.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a show-cause notice to fast bowler Naseem Shah for allegedly violating the terms of his central contract as well as the board’s media policy and regulations.
In a statement released on Friday, the PCB confirmed that the notice had been served in accordance with its disciplinary framework. The board directed the player to submit his response within the stipulated timeframe, after which a decision on further action will be taken.
“The PCB remains committed to upholding professional standards, contractual obligations, and the integrity of the game,” the statement said.
While the PCB did not specify the exact nature of the violation, the development comes in the wake of a social media post that surfaced on Naseem’s X account following the opening ceremony of the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League. The event was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
The now-deleted post featured a video of Maryam Nawaz and questioned her protocol at the venue. Shortly after, another message appeared on the account claiming that it had been “recently hacked” and subsequently recovered.
The PCB has not officially linked the notice to the social media activity, but sources suggest the incident may have prompted disciplinary scrutiny.
