Balochistan IG pays tribute to police martyrs, visits families on Eid
Balochistan IGP Muhammad Tahir visited families of police martyrs on Eid, laid a wreath at the Police Martyrs Memorial, and praised the sacrifices of fallen officers.

QUETTA: Balochistan Inspector General of Police Muhammad Tahir on Eid day paid tribute to police personnel who lost their lives in terrorist attacks in Quetta and other parts of the province, emphasising that their sacrifices would never be forgotten.
The IGP honoured the fallen officers who gave their lives in the line of duty to protect citizens and their property. He expressed these sentiments while visiting the families of police martyrs at Police Lines and other locations across the city.
IGP Tahir was accompanied by a senior delegation of police officials during the visits, including DIG Quetta Imran Shoukat, Commandant Balochistan Constabulary Ashfaq Ahmed, DIG Headquarters Hassan Asad Alvi, and SSP Operations Asif Khan.
Wreath-laying at Police Martyrs Memorial
As part of his Eid day engagements, the inspector general visited the Police Martyrs Memorial where he laid a floral wreath in honour of the officers who had made the ultimate sacrifice. The ceremony served as a solemn reminder of the heavy toll that terrorism has taken on the province's police force.
During his visits, IGP Tahir also met with the families of the martyred police personnel. He offered prayers for the elevation of the martyrs' ranks and sought patience for their bereaved families during the difficult times they continue to endure.
Families express gratitude
Family members of the martyred police officials expressed satisfaction with the visit and thanked the police department for its continued support and care extended to them. The gesture of visiting the families on the occasion of Eid was seen as a mark of respect and solidarity with those who have lost their loved ones in the fight against terrorism.
The IGP also visited the homes of martyred DSP Mir and other fallen officers as part of his outreach to the families of those who sacrificed their lives while serving in the Balochistan police.
Balochistan has long been one of the most challenging provinces in terms of security, with police personnel frequently targeted in terrorist attacks. The visits by the province's top police official on the occasion of Eid underscored the department's commitment to standing by the families of its fallen officers and recognising the sacrifices made by its personnel in maintaining law and order across the province.
