ISLAMABAD: A newly constituted medical board examined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan at Adiala jail, following directions issued by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The medical examination was carried out by a team comprising five specialist doctors along with supporting staff, according to the jail administration.
Medical board to submit findings to chief commissioner
The jail administration confirmed that the medical board would submit its report to the chief commissioner following the completion of the examination. The formation of the new medical board and the subsequent examination were undertaken in compliance with orders passed by the Islamabad High Court.
The development comes as the PTI founder remains incarcerated at Adiala jail in Rawalpindi. The IHC had directed the constitution of a fresh medical board to assess the health condition of the former prime minister.
The examination by the five-member specialist panel marks the latest step in ongoing judicial proceedings concerning the health and medical care of Imran Khan during his detention. The chief commissioner is expected to review the medical board's report once it is formally submitted.
Further details regarding the specific findings of the medical board or the particular health concerns addressed during the examination were not immediately available.
