Peshawar authorities order crackdown on animal cruelty in local markets

PESHAWAR: The Commissioner of Peshawar has directed immediate action to address reports of animal cruelty in the city's markets, following the implementation of the new Animal Welfare Act.

According to an official statement, the Commissioner has instructed relevant departments to carry out inspections across Peshawar's markets to ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations. The directive comes in response to increasing concerns about the treatment of animals in commercial settings.
