Public Holiday Announced By Government on March 13

The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday across the province on March 13, 2026 (Friday).

According to an official notification, the holiday will apply to all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils operating under the administrative control of the provincial government. Essential services, however, will remain operational.

The notification itself did not specify the reason for the holiday. However, a day earlier Nasir Hussain Shah, Sindh’s Minister for Local Government, had indicated that the break would be observed in connection with Jummatul Wida, the last Friday of Ramadan.

Jummatul Wida holds special religious significance for Muslims and is widely observed with prayers and gatherings during the final days of the holy month.

The announcement means government institutions across Sindh will remain closed on Friday, while essential public services will continue to operate as usual.
