ISLAMABAD: The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has granted approval for the acquisition of a majority shareholding in KRRAVE Technologies (Private) Limited by SUOL Innovations (Private) Limited, according to an official statement.
The CCP reviewed the proposed transaction under Section 11 of the Competition Act, 2010, which requires pre-merger clearance for acquisitions that meet specified thresholds. Following its assessment, the Commission determined that the transaction would not result in the dominance of the acquiring party in the relevant market, and therefore, it does not raise competition concerns.
SUOL Innovations (Private) Limited is a company incorporated in Pakistan, while KRRAVE Technologies (Private) Limited is also a locally registered entity. The official statement from the CCP noted that the acquisition involves the transfer of majority shareholding and management control of KRRAVE Technologies to SUOL Innovations.
The CCP’s clearance is a mandatory step for mergers and acquisitions in Pakistan that exceed certain financial thresholds, ensuring that such transactions do not adversely affect competition within the market. The Commission’s review process includes evaluating the impact of the transaction on market structure and the potential for creating or strengthening a dominant position.
According to the CCP, the transaction was found to be in compliance with the relevant provisions of the Competition Act, and the approval was granted after a detailed review process. The Commission reiterated its commitment to promoting fair competition and protecting consumer interests in the country’s business landscape.
No further details regarding the financial terms of the deal or the specific market segments involved were disclosed in the official statement.
