Bahrain arrests six Asians, including five Pakistanis, over videos of Iran’s attacks

Manama — Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior announced on Monday that six Asian nationals, including five Pakistanis and one Bangladeshi, have been arrested for allegedly filming and sharing videos related to the recent Iranian attacks.

According to a statement published on the police media centre’s website, the Anti-Cyber Crime Directorate carried out the arrests after the suspects reportedly "filmed, published and reposted videos related to the effects of the treacherous Iranian aggression." The ministry further alleged that the individuals expressed "sympathy with and glorified those hostile acts in a manner that harms security and public order."

The statement added that the videos were circulated through the suspects’ social media accounts, which the authorities claim contributed to "misleading public opinion and spreading fear among citizens and residents."

"Legal procedures have been taken, and the suspects have been referred to the public prosecution," the ministry said. The statement did not specify the exact nature of the videos or the specific charges the suspects may face.

The Ministry of Interior also urged the public to rely on official sources for information and to avoid sharing unverified content, particularly material that could impact national security or public order.

The arrests come amid heightened tensions in the region following Iran’s recent military actions. The Bahraini authorities have not disclosed further details about the suspects or the ongoing legal proceedings.
