Special Eid travel guidelines issued for passengers and bus operators

ISLAMABAD: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has released a set of special travel guidelines for passengers and bus operators ahead of the Eid holidays, according to a report in the Express Tribune.

The NHMP has advised all passengers to ensure they carry their original Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) while traveling. The guidelines also instruct passengers to keep their valuables secure and avoid carrying unnecessary cash during their journeys.

For bus operators, the NHMP has emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations. Operators are directed to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition, with particular attention to brakes, lights, and tyres. The guidelines also call for the appointment of qualified drivers and the strict prohibition of overloading and overspeeding.

The NHMP has further instructed bus operators to display emergency contact numbers prominently inside vehicles and to ensure that fire extinguishers and first aid kits are available on board. Additionally, operators are required to brief passengers about safety measures before the commencement of journeys.

Passengers have been urged to report any violations or complaints to the NHMP helpline. The NHMP has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of travelers during the Eid period and has called on all stakeholders to cooperate in implementing these measures.
