Punjab Education Foundation signs MoUs for 155 Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence

The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has entered into memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with a range of partners to establish 155 Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence across Punjab. The signing ceremony took place on Thursday in Lahore, with Punjab Minister for School Education Rana Sikandar Hayat attending as chief guest. PEF Chairman Malik Shoaib Awan was also present at the event.

During the ceremony, PEF Managing Director Shahid Farid provided a comprehensive briefing outlining the objectives, scope, and components of the Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence initiative. The MoUs were signed with young entrepreneurs, individuals, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Ed-Tech firms, and educational chains, sources said.

According to officials, the PEF will grant a 45-day period for the development of school infrastructure in line with modern standards. Once the construction is completed, the schools will undergo inspection based on criteria and conditions prescribed by the PEF. Only after successful inspection will permission be granted for student enrollment.

This initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities by involving a diverse group of stakeholders in the establishment and management of the new schools. The process emphasizes adherence to quality standards and modern infrastructure requirements.

The event highlighted the collaborative approach being adopted for the Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence, with the involvement of both public and private sector entities. Further details regarding the timeline for student admissions and the locations of the schools were not provided in the available reports.
