Nine Balochistan government officers face dismissal over alleged anti-state activities
Nine government officers in Balochistan have been served show-cause notices for alleged anti-state activities, officials said. The provincial apex committee also reviewed law and order, counterterrorism, and other key issues in its latest meeting.
The Balochistan Provincial Apex Committee convened its 21st meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, to assess the province’s law and order situation and review ongoing security measures. During the session, officials disclosed that nine government officers had been issued show-cause notices for their alleged involvement in anti-state activities, with proceedings underway for their dismissal.
Senior civil and military leaders attended the meeting, including Quetta Corps Commander Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan and Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan. The committee addressed a range of topics, including counterterrorism strategies, the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals, education reforms, and actions against financial crimes.
Participants of the meeting strongly condemned the use of Afghan territory for activities against Pakistan, familiar with the proceedings. The committee also expressed full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and commended the Pakistan Army for its effective defensive strategies and timely responses to security threats.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Balochistan informed the committee that 1,115 police personnel had lost their lives in the line of duty. The committee paid tribute to these officers for their sacrifices in maintaining peace and security in the province.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the provincial government’s commitment to upholding law and order and taking strict action against any individuals found to be involved in activities deemed detrimental to the state.
