The Balochistan government has announced plans to establish a modern Safe City Authority, aiming to enhance security and technological infrastructure across the province. The decision was made during a high-level meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Quetta on Tuesday, chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
According to officials present at the meeting, the Safe City Authority will oversee the installation of state-of-the-art surveillance cameras in major cities throughout Balochistan. The initiative is designed to align with contemporary security and technological standards, with the goal of improving public safety and monitoring capabilities.
During the session, Chief Minister Bugti received a detailed briefing on the progress of ongoing Safe City projects. The Chief Minister also directed that the pace of work be accelerated to ensure timely completion.
Chief Minister Bugti assured participants that the provincial government is committed to providing the necessary financial and technical resources as a priority. He emphasized that the completion of the Safe City project represents a significant milestone for Balochistan, noting that the province will become the second in the country, after Punjab, to implement such a modern system.
Officials highlighted that the Safe City Authority is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening security measures and supporting law enforcement agencies. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the government's resolve to expedite the project and bring it to fruition at the earliest possible date.
