PML-Q calls for Balochistan Solidarity Week to show national unity

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) has urged the nation to observe Balochistan Solidarity Week in response to recent militant incidents in the province, the party’s central information secretary said.

In a statement, he said the move was intended to send a clear message that the country stood united and that Balochistan was not alone in facing the current challenges.

He said the party leadership had expressed full solidarity with the people of Balochistan as well as with the police, Frontier Corps and other security forces operating in the area.

According to the spokesperson, the entire nation stood with the people of the province and, in this difficult time, every region of Pakistan should convey a message of solidarity, affection and brotherhood.

He called on all political and religious parties to jointly observe Balochistan Solidarity Week to reinforce national unity against terrorism.

The spokesperson said that attacks on unarmed civilians in Balochistan were equivalent to attacks on the whole country. He alleged that the BLA and other militant groups were pursuing an anti-state agenda with backing from India.

He added that those involved in such attacks did not deserve any leniency and paid tribute to security personnel who lost their lives while countering militant threats.
