Finance Minister, German envoy review economic cooperation

ISLAMABAD: German Ambassador to Pakistan Ina Lapel met Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad on Wednesday, with both sides reviewing the state of bilateral relations and prospects for deeper economic cooperation.

During the meeting, the two sides highlighted the need for sustained engagement to further strengthen cooperation in trade, investment and development. They reiterated their shared commitment to expanding economic ties and fostering a stable, transparent and predictable business environment to support long-term growth.

The finance minister briefed the ambassador on the government’s overall economic outlook and key reform priorities, underlining the focus on macroeconomic stability, fiscal discipline and competitiveness-driven growth.

Both sides expressed confidence that continued dialogue and collaboration would contribute to stronger Pakistan-Germany relations, particularly in areas linked to economic development and private sector engagement.
