ISLAMABAD: Pakistani YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, has made his first public statement following his arrest earlier this year, sharing details of his alleged mistreatment in a vlog that has already garnered over 11 million views on YouTube.
In the video, Ducky Bhai recounted the difficulties he and his family faced over the past three and a half months. He said the ordeal began on August 16, after a family gathering, as he prepared to attend an international event. Emphasizing his commitment to the legal process, he stated that he would fully cooperate with the court and accept the judge’s decision in his case.
The vlog has sparked widespread social media discussion, with several Pakistani celebrities voicing public support for Ducky Bhai after learning about the alleged mistreatment he described.
Ducky Bhai was detained in August by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) at Lahore Airport while attempting to leave the country, and his name was placed on the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL). His arrest followed an FIR lodged by the NCCIA under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, along with relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code.
According to the FIR, Ducky Bhai is accused of promoting gambling and betting applications that defrauded users and collected millions of rupees. This is not the first controversy surrounding him; he previously faced legal trouble earlier this year when the Lahore High Court granted him protective bail in a reckless driving case.
The incident involved a viral video showing him allegedly driving on the motorway at high speed with his feet on the steering wheel while appearing to sleep, which prompted widespread criticism and led the National Highways and Motorway Police to register a case and issue a public safety warning.
The case under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act includes charges for electronic forgery, fraud, spamming, and spoofing, while the Pakistan Penal Code sections cover offering prizes in connection with trade and cheating.
Ducky Bhai’s vlog marks his first detailed account of the past months, as he navigates both legal challenges and public scrutiny, while continuing to maintain a significant following on social media platforms.
