Senior Civil Judge Masood Ahmed Faridi on Saturday issued an arrest warrant for Musa Maneka, the younger son of Khawar Maneka and Bushra Bibi, after he failed to appear before the court despite multiple summons. Musa is the primary suspect in a case involving the shooting of a domestic servant at his residence in the Pir Ghani area of Pakpattan on July 17, 2025.
According to the case details, Musa allegedly became enraged when his 18-year-old servant, Ali Bahadur, removed bedsheets from his room without permission. In anger, he is said to have fired a 30-bore pistol at the servant, injuring him in the left knee. Witnesses claimed Musa also threatened other household workers with similar consequences if they attempted to help the injured boy.
Police were alerted shortly after the incident, prompting District Police Officer Javed Iqbal Chadhar and a Saddar police team to reach the scene. DPO Chadhar reportedly confronted Musa, took him into custody and recovered the weapon used in the shooting.
Ali Bahadur, a resident of Chak Alam Hatayka, had been working at the Maneka household for two years. After the incident, he was taken by Rescue 1122 to the Pakpattan District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. A formal complaint was later filed by Ali’s father, Manzoor, leading to the registration of the case at Saddar Police Station.
In addition to the shooting case, Musa Maneka is also a key suspect in a Rs113.1 million corruption inquiry alongside his father, Khawar Maneka, and his brother, Ibrahim Maneka. Ibrahim has been declared an absconder and is believed to have fled to Spain. The corruption case has been under investigation at the Anti-Corruption Establishment’s regional office for the past two years.
The trio, along with three government officials, were named in a reference submitted by the then Okara deputy commissioner on August 23, 2023. The court has directed Pakpattan Saddar Police to produce Musa on November 19.
