LAHORE: The 2nd ACOBA Padel Tournament kicked off in Lahore on Saturday, inaugurated by squash legend Jahangir Khan. The two-day event has drawn more than 60 players, marking one of the city’s most vibrant padel gatherings to date.

Competitions began with the opening-day fixtures, while the Open category matches are scheduled for the second day, promising intense contests among seasoned and emerging players.
Speaking at the inauguration, Jahangir Khan expressed his satisfaction over the sport’s growing popularity in Pakistan. “In padel tennis, we are moving forward very quickly. Seeing such a large number of participants is truly a moment of joy,” he said. He added that he was pleased to see the younger generation embracing the sport and praised Padel Bridge for building an impressive facility that is helping the game flourish.

Participants also shared their enthusiasm, noting that padel tennis is rapidly becoming popular among the masses. Many expressed confidence and excitement, saying they would “try their best to win the tournament.”
The event will conclude with an awards ceremony today, where winners will receive cash prizes and trophies, wrapping up what is expected to be a competitive and spirited tournament.
