Dawn addresses AI-generated content error after Pakistan Today report

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Today reported earlier today on an AI-generated text blunder in a Dawn News report, which violated the publication's internal AI policy.

The issue came to light when Pakistan Today pointed out that a paragraph in Dawn's article had been directly lifted from an AI response without proper editorial oversight. Dawn News acknowledged the mistake, confirming that AI had been used in editing, and issued an apology for the oversight. They stated that the matter is under investigation and emphasized the importance of adhering to their AI policy moving forward.

Dawn’s statement clarified that the AI-generated content included artifact text from the editing process, which had been removed in the digital version of the report.
