Trump posts fake AI video promoting ‘MedBed’ hospitals

Former U.S. President Donald Trump briefly shared a fabricated video on Truth Social over the weekend, announcing the creation of “MedBed hospitals” and a national MedBed card system. The video, designed to resemble a Fox News broadcast featuring Lara Trump, was later removed after Fox News confirmed to The Verge that it had never aired on any of its channels.

The clip appeared to be entirely AI-generated, showcasing a simulated Trump speaking from the Oval Office. Viewers noted the unusually polished appearance and consistent delivery of Trump’s speech, which were clear indicators of computer-generated content. No caption or explanation was provided alongside the video, adding to the speculation about its intentions.

The concept of “MedBeds” has long circulated among conspiracy theorists, particularly within the QAnon movement, claiming the devices can cure cancer, reverse chronic illnesses, and regenerate missing limbs. Despite the absence of scientific evidence, some believers argue that such technology exists but is being deliberately withheld by powerful institutions.

Although many Trump supporters acknowledged the video’s artificial nature, some viewed it as indirect confirmation of the MedBeds’ existence. The confusion caused by this fake content highlights the risks associated with posting misleading information, especially when it comes from a seemingly credible source.
