- Punjab CM describes program as a significant step toward achieving vision of ‘golden-yielding Punjab’
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched a unique program for young agriculture graduates, Chief Minister Agriculture Internship Program Phase II, under which 2,000 agriculture graduate interns will get a monthly stipend of Rs60,000.
She said, “Students pursuing BSc Agriculture and BSc (Hons.) Agricultural Engineering are eligible for the internship program. They can submit their applications in the office of Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension) in their respective districts.” She added, “Agricultural Helpline 0800-17000 is also active for the agricultural graduates internship program.” She highlighted, “The quota for BSc Agriculture and BSc Agricultural Engineering graduates in each district has been fixed.”
The Punjab CM described the program as a significant step toward achieving her vision of a “golden-yielding Punjab.”
She emphasized the role of educated youth in transforming the agriculture sector and highlighted the government’s broader efforts through complementary initiatives such as the Kisan Card Program, Green Tractors Scheme, and the Tube Well Solarization Project.
She also revealed plans for a Model Agriculture Mall, which will offer comprehensive agricultural services under one roof.
This comprehensive approach reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to modernizing agriculture, empowering youth, and enhancing productivity across rural communities.
The initiative not only offers gainful employment to educated youth but also promotes the adoption of modern agricultural practices among farmers.
CM Pays Tribute to Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, PM Shehbaz and Economic Team
“Alhamdulillah, today international organizations are also recognizing the stability of Pakistan’s economy, which is an expression of confidence in the policies of the government,” said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz while paying tribute to PML-N Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and their economic team on the historic decision of S&P to upgrade Pakistan’s credit rating.
She asserted, “Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and their economic team kept the lamp of hope burning even in the most difficult circumstances.” She highlighted, “The improvement in S&P’s credit rating is a testament to the wise leadership and economic insight of PML-N.”
The Punjab CM said, “Investors’ confidence has been restored with transparent policies, foresight, and solid economic reforms.” She added, “Improvement in credit rating is the fruit of hard work of PML-N leadership.” She underscored, “By the grace of Allah, Pakistan will definitely achieve the goal of economic self-reliance.”
CM’s Message on World Drowning Prevention Day
“World Drowning Prevention Day raises awareness on taking precautions,” said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in her message on World Drowning Prevention Day. She added, “Theme of Drowning Prevention Day organized by WHO is ‘Anyone can drown, but no one should drown’.” She highlighted, “Water is a symbol of life, but if not taken seriously, it can also cause death.”
The chief minister said, “Millions of people lose their lives worldwide every year due to not taking the risk of drowning seriously.” She added, “Prevention of drowning in canals, rivers, flood drains or sea is possible only with caution.” She underscored, “Recent drowning of several people in flood waters is extremely painful and disturbing.”
The chief minister said, “There is a ban on bathing in canals, lakes and rivers throughout Punjab.” She noted, “Warning, sign system and monitoring are being ensured for effective ban on bathing.” She added, “Rescue 1122 teams are fully mobilized to save public from drowning.” She appealed to the parents to prevent children from bathing in flooded drains, canals and rivers.
