Five terrorists killed in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa operations

RAWALPINDI: Five terrorists affiliated with the Indian-backed militant group Fitna al Khawarij were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing reported on Monday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation took place in Peshawar District, where security forces surrounded and engaged a terrorist group. After an intense fire exchange, four terrorists, including Haris and Baseer, were killed.

In a separate operation in North Waziristan, one more terrorist was neutralized during a firefight. The forces also seized weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the militants, who were believed to be involved in various terrorist activities in the region.

The ISPR confirmed that sanitization operations are ongoing to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining militants, reiterating the military’s commitment to eradicating Indian-sponsored terrorism.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif both praised the security forces for their successful operations. They reaffirmed the government’s determination to completely eliminate the terrorist network, with President Zardari stating that operations would continue until all terrorism is eradicated. PM Shehbaz emphasized that those responsible for threatening innocent lives would face severe consequences.
